10 QUESTIONS WITH... RACHEL AMPHLETT

Rachel Amphlett is the bestselling author of the Dan Taylor espionage novels, the new Detective Kay Hunter series, and a number of standalone crime thrillers. Like her characters, Rachel is a stickler for detail, which means if you happen upon her Instagram account and find book titles such as ‘How To Kill’, don’t worry, it’s all in the name of research…

TEN QUESTIONS WITH... DIANE CAPRI

Born in Alabama, Diane grew up in a small German-American farming town north of Detroit, living a book-filled childhood and following most of life’s rules. She graduated from law school and worked her way into the top 1% of U.S. lawyers.

In 1995, her largest client filed for bankruptcy protection, destroying her by-the-book life. The opportunity to write what she loved beckoned, so Diane decided to rewrite life's rules – to suit herself.

Her first novels were successful and suspenseful Florida mysteries featuring women who deliver justice with a splash of humour. A cocktail fuelled conversation with Diane's friend and #1 international bestselling author Lee Child in 2009, prompted the question, Where is Jack Reacher? Since then, and with Lee's blessing, Diane has been answering that with a series of novels.

TEN QUESTIONS WITH... JAMES P. SUMNER

After running the gamut of office jobs from telesales to banking and not managing to scratch that creative itch, James started writing True Conviction, his first book, in 2013. Publishing it independently led to it being downloaded over 100,000 times on Amazon and the subsequent entries in the Adrian Hell series being Amazon bestsellers. He made the leap to being a full-time author in 2016.

TEN QUESTIONS WITH... STEVE TURNBULL

Technically, Steve was born a London cockney, until the age of five when a move to the suburbs taught him to 'talk posh'. Although a voracious reader since his early years, it wasn't until reading poet Laurie Lee's autobiography "Cider with Rosie" at the age of 15 that he felt spurred into becoming a writer. He has spent the last twenty years editing and writing for computer magazines, while crafting poetry and an impressive back catalogue of fiction.

TEN QUESTIONS WITH... JJ MARSH

JJ is a wearer of many hats. Now living in Switzerland, she is a journalist, teacher, actor, director, cultural trainer, and the author of the Beatrice Stubbs European Crime Mystery Series. She's also a founder member of Triskele Books, European correspondent for Words with JAM magazine, co-edits Swiss literary hub The Woolf and is a reviewer for Bookmuse. I suspect JJ may also have superpowers because I'm exhausted from just writing all that up...

TEN QUESTIONS WITH... CATHERINE LEE

Australian author Catherine is a huge crime fiction fan, and her love of the genre is evident throughout her gripping Sydney-set 'Dark Series'. Catherine also loves Netflix and her dog (a winning combination if you ask me), and enjoys the self-confessed hermit/writer lifestyle with occasional trips out into the real world for some vitamin D.

TEN QUESTIONS WITH... LUCY ENGLISH

Lucy English is very busy. Not only does she work as both a sociologist and as a writer while racing back and forth between speaking engagements and her Saint Louis, Missouri home, she's also the mother of two teenage boys (I was one of those once - Lucy, you have my sympathy). She has published three books in the Penny Wade Mysteries series, is trying to write a middle grades fiction book, and is working on a non-fiction book on holism.
